Membership Types

A Professional Member is any person who has a professional interest in poultry science. Professional members may be educators, scientists, extension specialists, administrators, and producers who are committed to advancing the poultry industry.

PSA Professional Membership: $120/year
Your annual dues include full Open Access (OA) to all three PSA journals:

• Poultry Science®

• The Journal of Applied Poultry Research (JAPR)

• European Poultry Science

As a Professional Member, you’ll receive:

• Discounted registration for PSA’s Annual Meeting

• $800+ in publishing discounts with PSA’s journals: Poultry Science®, JAPR, and European Poultry Science

• A network of peers, mentors, and collaborators across the globe

• Access to member-exclusive webinars, resources, and award opportunities

• Full voting rights and eligibility for PSA honors and leadership roles

PSA Student Membership: FREE
A Student Member is any full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a recognized college, university, or institution of higher education who has not yet earned a doctorate. Students must be pursuing a degree in poultry science or a closely related field.

All student members are automatically enrolled in the PSA Student Hatchery and the USA Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA-USA) if you are located in the U.S. and Canada. Undergraduate Student membership can be held for up to 4 consecutive years; Graduate Student membership is available for up to 5 consecutive years, with annual renewal required.

As a Student Member, you’ll receive:

• FREE membership with no annual dues

• Open Access (OA) to Poultry Science®, The Journal of Applied Poultry Research (JAPR) and European Poultry Science

• $800+ in publishing discounts with PSA’s journals: Poultry Science®, JAPR, and European Poultry Science

• Discounted registration for PSA’s Meetings

• Access to all PSA Hatchery events and activities

• Opportunities to network with professionals, present your research, and engage in leadership development

PSA Postdoc Membership: $60/year
A Postdoc Member is any full-time researcher working in academia or industry who has earned a PhD and is conducting research in poultry science or a related field.

Postdoc membership can be held for up to 2 consecutive years, with annual renewal and payment required.

Your annual dues include full Open Access (OA) to all three PSA journals:

• Poultry Science®

• The Journal of Applied Poultry Research (JAPR)

• European Poultry Science

As a Postdoc Member, you’ll receive:

• Discounted registration for PSA’s Meetings
• $800+ in publishing discounts with PSA’s journals: Poultry Science®, JAPR, and European Poultry Science
• Access to a network of peers, mentors, and collaborators in the field
• Invitations to member-exclusive webinars, resources, and professional opportunities

This program celebrates global collaboration by offering discounted membership rates to individuals in economically diverse regions, helping expand the Poultry Science Association’s vibrant international community. We will begin accepting applications for this membership type October 1, 2025. Learn more here. 

To be eligible, individuals must live and work in a country listed in the latest International Monetary Fund (IMF) Yearbook with a per capita GDP of 11,000 Special Drawing Rights (SDR) or less. SDR is the IMF’s standard unit of account used to compare economic indicators across nations.

Q: At what career stage are individuals eligible to apply for the program?

A: This program is intended for individuals who are actively engaged in their professional careers. Those who have recently completed their PhD and are entering the workforce may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability. Please note that student applications are not accepted, as PSA offers complimentary membership to students.

PSA Emeritus Membership: FREE
An Emeritus Member is a long-standing PSA Professional Member who has held membership for at least the past five consecutive years and meets one of the following criteria:

1. Has reached 70 years of age, or

2. Is fully retired and no longer receiving a regular salary for work in the poultry field

All requests for Emeritus status must be approved by the PSA Board of Directors.

As an Emeritus Member, you’ll receive:

• FREE membership with no annual dues
