Poultry Science® ranks seventh by Impact Factor Among Agriculture, Dairy, and Animal Science journals According to new statistics released in Clarivate Analytics’ Journal Citation Reports, the Impact Factor for Poultry Science® increased 31% compared with last year. The Journal of Applied Poultry Research also saw an increase of 26% compare with last year. As a measure that quantifies the average number of citations over a specific period, the Impact Factor gives authors one way to assess the quality of scientific journals. As such, the increase in PS’s Impact Factor from 2.027 to 2.659 and JAPR’s Impact Factor from 0.808 to 1.015 are significant for both journals. An Impact Factor of 2.659 places Poultry Science® 7th out of 63 journals in the Agriculture, Dairy, and Animal Science category. JAPR’s impact factor of 1.015 places it 39th out of 63 journals in the same category. Currently Poultry Science is the highest-ranked (by Impact Factor and Eigenfactor) journal dedicated to publishing poultry research. In addition, Poultry Science® and the Journal of Applied Poultry Research are Open Access journals with no subscription charges, meaning authors who publish in the journals can make their research immediately, permanently, and freely accessible worldwide while retaining copyright to their work.
